|Hybrid Systems Lead - North East|
£60k + Bonus Ref 1213 -104
To work with in house engineers and customers on the design and development of integrated systems for hybrid and electric vehicles.
Reporting to the Vice President R&D, and covering all aspects of product development from concept through to product release this is a hands on role requiring team leadership qualities. Typically involving detailing specifications, circuit design, modelling, breadboard design, liaison with PCB designers, product testing, product approvals, technical documentation and co-ordinating team members.
·To act as Lead Engineer for all hybrid systems projects.
·The design and development of integrated systems for hybrid and electric vehicles.
·Working with Customers and in house engineers on the design and development of such systems.
·Product design from concept to production
·Assist senior managers in defining the company technology roadmap
·Work with project managers to ensure timely delivery of products to market
·Supervision of engineers and technicians
·Work to company quality standards
Key Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a structured career progression with detailed working experience in the following areas:
·Formal degree level qualification in either electrical or electronics engineering, physics or related subjects, with ideally a second higher degree or Doctorate.
·Experience in Hybrid Vehicles, Electric Vehicles and Ultra-capacitor systems.
·Experience in the design of motor controls
·Knowledge of Battery and Battery Management System design and development.
·Vehicle systems integration
·Knowledge of vehicle safety systems
·A minimum of 6 years industry experience of Automotive Hybrid Systems engineering.
·Experience of project management.
·A good communicator with the ability to work both individually and to lead/support a multi-disciplined engineering team is important.
·Willing to travel worldwide.
